ALDEBARAN is an agency for cross-media communication of scientific and maritime contents, conceived as an interface between science and media. With the aid of modern multimedia production facilities, complex scientific and technical issues are visualised appealingly and made available to all sorts of media in high quality.
ALDEBARAN specializes in the production of TV and radio broadcasts, including unique underwater images, and produces image and event films as well as multimedia internet presences. The visualisation and communication of environmental and marine topics is especially important. Additionally, ALDEBARAN acts as a consultant for different companies and university institutions by presenting strategies and practical advice for effective press and public relations work.
Aboard their own unique research and media vessel scientists and journalists collaborate in the same boat, thus presenting an attractive platform for editing maritime topics, especially for the media. Studio quality TV and radio programmes are produced on board and broadcast worldwide from the 14m vessel. With the aid of ALDEBARAN, cooperating scientific institutions like the newly founded Hamburg Centre for Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (ZMAW) achieve a high multiplication rate in disseminating important marine topics from aboard. Since 1992, more than 1000 radio pieces, documentaries and more than 500 TV programmes have been produced and broadcast on board.
An accompanying board of trustees is comprised of prominent public, scientific, and media representatives who through their experiences can considerably contribute to successfully fashioning public relations contents.
