Expedition > BAHAMAS

The Bahamas are an archipelago of more than 700 isles and 2000 coral reefs to the northeast of Cuba. Nowhere in the Caribbean are the boundaries between land and ocean as blurred as here: a large part of the land lies only just above the water surface. Many of the curiously shaped islands can suddenly be split midways by waterways only a few centimetres deep and are henceforth counted as two separate islands, and the sea gradually recaptures atolls and lagoons.
The shallows, the widespread coral reef systems or “Cays”, and the legendary “Blue Holes” make the Bahamas a diver’s paradise. The team of the ALDEBARAN will mainly be filming the trusting spotted dolphins commonly found there.
